Why Two Choices

Your Eternity Choice - Despair

You may be wondering why there are two choices for eternity. Why doesn’t everyone go to the same place after death?

The reason there are TWO choices is because of our sin.

“There is none righteous no, not one:” Romans 3:10

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

Sin is anything that breaks God’s law,

“…for sin is the transgression of the law” (I John 3:4).

Lying, stealing, lusts, bitterness, jealousy…all of these are examples of sin, which separate us from God, because He is Holy and without sin!

“…the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23a

Our sin hinders and destroys our lives as well!

This is where the TWO choices come in. Either we choose to pay for our own sin, or we choose to accept the sacrifice of the Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, that we might be eternally forgiven.

If you have not trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, we pray that after reading and considering the TWO choices, you will be ready to enter into a right relationship with God, as the Holy Spirit draws you to Himself!

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32, John 16:8, John 6:44

Eternity Choice #1 - The Bad News

This FIRST choice requires no action or decision on your part now or at any time in your life! Choice #1 is living life as best as you can, …including religion or not; and hoping that in the end everything will turn out okay for eternity!

Perhaps it is the choice you have made up until this moment in your life. Many kind and loving people make Choice #1, without realizing what it means for their future. The Bible says that...

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die…” Ezekiel 18:20

The ways of death of Choice #1 speak of spending eternity in an awful place the Bible calls Hell. Hell is a place of torment in literal fire with no relief.

In Luke 16:23, we read “…and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…”

“There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth…” Luke 13:28

“Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” II Thessalonians 1:9

No one who truly understands what Hell is really like would ever want to go there! God is...

“…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9

Choice 1 is the wrong choice

Eternity Choice #2
The Good News

Your Eternity Choice - Salvation

This is the most important choice you can ever make in your entire life! Choice #2 does require a decision on your part, yet it brings eternal peace within. It is the ONLY way to have a right relationship with God and an eternal home in Heaven.

Choice #2 is to believe the Gospel, the Good News of Christ! God the Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross of Calvary, to shed his precious blood, to rise again from the dead, and to pay the price for all of our sins.

“…I declare unto you The Gospel…by which also ye are saved…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…”. I Corinthians 15:3-4

“…if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”  John 8:24

“…and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Hebrews 9:22

Jesus Christ, who never sinned, became sin for us, died on the Cross to take our sin upon Himself, and paid our sin debt and penalty, that we can live unto righteousness.

“…Who knew no sin…” II Corinthians 5:21

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sin, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.” I Peter 2:24

Even though we are sinners by nature and by choice… we deserve Hell and the Lake of Fire… we can be forgiven in Christ!

“But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Psalms 130:4

Eternal salvation is not based on what we can do to gain God’s favor; rather, it is based on what Jesus Christ has already done for us in His death, burial, and resurrection.

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost: “Titus 3:5

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“And this is eternal life that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”  John 17:3

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12 “

I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Jesus Paid It All,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow.

The gift of eternal life is available to all who will come to God, repenting of their sin, and believing by faith in the payment of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The Bible explains,

“Testifying, both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.  Acts 20:21

Those who choose to receive the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour from sin, are given the gift of eternal life,…the forgiveness of their sin… and, when this life is over, a home with the Lord forever! The Bible says…

“Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:13

“Marvel not that I say unto thee, ye must be born again.” John 3:7

It does not matter who you are, or what you have done in your past, you can make Choice 2.

Make Choice #2 Today... It is Not Too Late For You!

Then

  • Your name will be written in Heaven’s book, the Lamb’s Book of Life! Revelation 21:27

  • You will be able to “…receive a full reward.” II John 8

If you are tired of the load of your sin,
Let Jesus come into your heart;
If you desire a new life to begin,
Let Jesus come into your heart.
Just now your doubtings give o’er;
Just now, reject Him no more
Just now, throw open the door;
Let Jesus come into your heart.

Bible Salvation is Faith Alone - In Christ Alone!
Nothing More - Nothing Less
By God's Grace - Not of Works

“And if by grace; then it is no more of works; otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6

“Let him that is athirst, come. And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.” (Revelation 22:17)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Choice 2 is the Right Choice

Come To Christ Just Now
Believe The Gospel Of Christ
Call Upon The Lord For Your Salvation

Calling upon the name of the Lord is done through simple prayer/talking directly to God! Pray in the best way you can, asking God to save you, for Jesus’ sake!

Remember, your prayer is the outward expression of your inward heart repentance and belief! If you sincerely mean what you pray, God will hear, answer, and save your soul for all eternity! The Bible says,

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you!” Matthew 7:7

One man in the Bible prayed…

“God be merciful to me a sinner.” Luke 18:13

Saul in pleading with the Lord asked, “Who art thou Lord?”…Then Saul said,

“Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” Acts 9:5-6

Others, in believing God and receiving Christ as their personal Saviour, have prayed from their heart, something like the following!

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry. I know I deserve Hell. I repent of my sin. I believe that you sent your son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sin. I believe He died, shed His blood, and rose again, so that I can be saved and spend eternity with you. I want to be saved and forgiven! I receive what Jesus Christ has done for me. Please forgive my sin and save my soul. Give me confidence and peace in my heart that you heard my prayer! Thank you for saving my soul! In Jesus name!...AMEN!

Your Eternity Choice - Salvation

Now... Please Consider... the following wonderful Bible verses for assurance of your salvation!

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And, I  give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27 -28)

“The  Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.” Romans 8:16

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God…that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” (I John 5:13)

If you believed on the name of the Son of God and His eternal sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary only, for the forgiveness of your sin and eternal life, Bible salvation is now yours! Do not trust your feelings… your feelings will change! Trust the Lord Jesus, and the truth of the Word of God in the Bible! The Bible calls this being “Saved”!

“By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."  I Corinthians 15:2

“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:…” Deuteronomy 33:27

He called me long before I heard,
Before my sinful heart was stirred.
But when I took Him at His Word
Forgiven He lifted me!
